Designer Pure Energy Beverage and Health Drinks

I saw a new entry into the health, nutrition and wellness arena recently. It was called Acai Designer Health and Energy Beverages. Of course we've had the various juices like noni, and goji and acai berry etc.

All this shows is that the wellness, health and nutrition industry is constantly growing and expanding. Which means more and more companies are trying to capitalize on this growing trend. This is an interesting concept - designer health beverages. I suppose with all the designer clothes, etc. it was only a matter of time before we had designer health products. Only time will tell if these products catch on or not.

In the meantime the Life Plus Nutrition products like Daily Biobasics and Proanthenols OPC continue to play to rave reviews.

Thanks a lot for the great service
Pete C. - Connecticut

My wife and myself are like observers in a sense, but we have also studied many articles and journals concerning weight loss. This is our frank opinion based on results we have seen with people taking various weight loss products. We do not have millions of dollars at stake so we can afford to be upfront and open with you. It's hard for companies to be totally objective with millions of dollars at stake.

Here is the premise around the Atkins Diet program:

People eat too many carbohydrates and they don't take in enough protein on whatever diet they are on so in effect they are causing their bodies to instead of burning fat to burn lean muscle.

In effect lean muscle burns at rest about 17 times more calories per day than the same amount of fat. The amount of muscle you have greatly determines your metabolism and how many calories your body burns each day. This is why people when they come off their diet and start eating again they can put the weight right back on again as their body is now naturally burning less calories than before. In effect they have slowed down their metabolism. This is especially true it seems of women who have less natural muscle mass than men.

This is really why the Atkins diet is so effective. It cuts out a lot of the carbohydrates, which because people often eat too many of them, causing them to gain weight. And by eating the protein it is making sure that you don't lose any muscle and may even help you gain some additional muscle mass.

Health & Nutrition Articles Healthranker, Squidoo and More

Something unused has no value. Think about that - a nutrition product in a bottle can't provide better health if it remains in the bottle - untaken. The best health information or advice either un-given or un-taken is of no value. So in that spirit here's some health information and websites for your benefit.

Here's an Article on Ten Vegetables You Should Eat To Improve Your Health.

Have you ever wondered what exactly the "healthiest vegetable" is? Well, that question popped into my mind the other day and I decided to research it. I saw some people claim that broccoli was the best, others argued that spinach does the most for the body, and still others were claiming that swiss chard held the top spot! All gave solid reasons for their chosen veggie, and while they didn't all agree on which is the healthiest, it's pretty safe to say that each one has its own wonderful benefits for your body. Here I’m going to list ten vegetables that, when all added to your diet, can make a drastic change in your health!

1. Collard Greens. Collard greens are a staple of every good southern diet, used in plenty of different recipes in a variety of ways. Tasty and pretty, this veggie has been researched extensively in relation to fighting cancer. – Three of it’s amazing nutrients, - sulforaphane, selenium, and diindolymethane - have all been shown to have cancer fighting properties. It is also bursting with vitamin E, calcium, and beta-carotene.

2. Onions. Onions may not work wonders for your breath, but when it comes to your body, this flavorful vegetable can work wonders. It’s been shown to be a natural agent against tumors, as well as having amazing anti-inflammatory properties. Onions also happen to contain the most active of all flavanoids, - an antioxidant called quercetin. This helps your body ward off the damaging, aging effects that free-radicals have on it.

3. Red Peppers. (Bell peppers) These colorful vegetables not only make a lovely accent to any meal; they’re also quite good for you. Red peppers are rich in antioxidants, reducing damage done in your body by free radicals. They are also bursting with vitamins A and C, and have been shown to reduce your risk for heart disease and stroke, due to their high levels of vitamins B6 and folic acid.

4. Sweet Potatoes. Sweet potatoes are absolutely bursting with vitamins A (Almost twice the recommended daily dose!) and C, as well as having plenty of protein, calcium and iron. They also rank well in their amount of dietary fiber. Beta-carotene and vitamin C work very well together as antioxidants to reduce free radicals in your body. And they taste wonderful, too!

5. Broccoli. Besides being rich in vitamins A and C, broccoli has sulforaphane. Sulforaphane is really one of broccoli’s biggest secret weapons. – It’s an anti-cancer compound that really charges and stimulates your cells to create enzymes that help fight cancer. It’s an amazing anti-cancer food.

6. Carrots. Carrots are a fun and versatile vegetable that can be used in anything from a pot roast to a party snack tray, making them a perfect vegetable for just about anything. They’re a great place to get fiber and vitamin K. Of course though, carrots are best known for helping out eyesight, and it’s true, they contain beta-carotene. Our body converts beta-carotene into vitamin A. Too little vitamin A can lead to bad vision, but fortunately it can be repaired by introducing more of it back into your body, thus making carrots the perfect food for your peepers!

7. Eggplants. Eggplants are really fascinating, as they’re very good for you in numerous different aspects. Not only are they loaded with copper, potassium, vitamin B1 and fiber, but they’ve also been shown to have great impact on the health of your heart. – It’s thought they can even help reduce your risk for heart-related illness in the future! The rich purple skin of the eggplant is also loaded with antioxidants.

8. Spinach. While spinach’s fame comes from its supposed “amazingly high” iron content, the truth is that while spinach does have an above average amount of iron in it, it has many other nutritional benefits that are just as important if not more so. It has plenty of magnesium, vitamin E, vitamin A and vitamin C, making it a very nutritionally dense vegetable. It may not make you as strong as Popeye, but it will definitely improve your health!

9. Celery. Celery is often used as a dieter’s snack. – Something with so few calories, that is makes for a great snack food for anyone watching their weight. But unbeknownst to a lot of people is just how good for you celery really is! It contains a lot of vitamins A and C (Which pack a lot of antioxidant power.), as well as potassium, magnesium and calcium, making for a nutritionally packed vegetable!

10. Asparagus. Asparagus is one of the few vegetables loaded in vitamin E, making it great for skin health, and it also contains a lot of potassium, vitamin B6, and fiber as well. Another really cool thing about asparagus is two antioxidants it has called “glutathione” and “rutin”. Glutathione has been shown to have cancer-fighting qualities, while rutin is great for strengthening the walls of your capillaries.

While there may be many differing opinions on which vegetable gets the title of “healthiest”, there’s no dispute that all of them have their own amazing nutritional benefits. By adding these to your diet you’ll be on the right track to becoming a healthier, happier you.
